Sleigh and Wagon Rides
Learn about the historic Blaeberry Valley and ‘eh’ Canadian Farm Woodlot as you move along groomed trails; in the forest, past our barn, along a stream, by the sawmill and through our horse meadow. The sleigh is a historic bob-sled, with seating for those who need it and straw seating for others. The wagon is a Massey Ferguson Hay Wagon fitted with rubber tires for a comfortable ride. Our horse team Duke (12 years) and Duchess (15 years) are sister and brother; Fjord, Quarter Horse Cross. Duke and Duchess have been pulling the sleigh and wagon for over 8 years. Loren started driving the team in 2000 after training to be a safe teamster. Since that time we have had hundreds of friends and lodge patrons slow down and enjoy a step back in time, as they glide through the snow on our sleigh or roll along on the hay wagon. Rides are approximately 20 minutes in length.
There is no charge for wagon or sleigh rides. However passenger and horse safety are our number one priority, and for this reason we have strict rules to ensure that all sleigh and wagon rides are a safe and fun event. Your cooperation with the rules is appreciated. These rules are posted below, at the barn, the meadow staging area.
